Is there a Tasmota or any other Firmware that That can be flashed to universal IR remote that has Esp8266 Chip & used with the Home assistant?
Learn & send commands thru WIFI & send commands to IR devices.

and you have yourself a great media player with tons of control. OpenMQTTGateway on a Sonoff RF Bridge is a great combo and very inexpensive.
