Glad to hear its working. No worries about tilting…i will made some modifications in Ariela that will automatically do the job.
ill go and try it on the second tablet aswell ( Nexus 7 ) Really happy that i dont have to use mqtt anymore
I am glad to hear this
Both work flawlessly ! ( Apart from the 90° tilt clockwise )
Was really easy to setup after giving ariela cam permission ( on the older tablet it already had permission from the mqtt thing, the never one i had to do it manually )
Only dau snag was that it reconed: “http://localhost:xxxx” but being the mean script kiddie im am i just replaced localhost with the corresponding tablet ip in the config.yaml and it worked.
I am glad to hear this.
I could replace that from Ariela (but this will work until android N). After Android O i cannot retrieve wifi mac address.
Seems Ariela isn’t updating my sensors correctly. I put my phone on the charger earlier and had to open Ariela to get it to register. Then after the phone charged, I unplugged it, and opened Ariela again, but it’s not updating my battery stats. I’ve been noticing this a lot the last week, but I’ve been out of town for work and haven’t had time to report anything
Is Ariela connected to HA(running in background)? Can you share some logs? Thank you.
I didn’t have it set to run in background but I opened the app several times and its still not updating the sensors. I have since set it to enable background but nothing.
It worked when I connected to the charger earlier but it doesn’t do anything now.
Rebooting my device seems to have resolved the issue for now. Seems odd though.
Please enable debug mode on Ariela, and if this happens again send me the logs. Its strange indeed.
Hello,
Version 1.3.5.8 is out.
What’s new:
No mjpeg rotation yet ?
This will be available in next Ariela release.
Hi @Ionut,
I’m using Ariela on a wall-mounted tablet, but the app keeps disappearing after a while (maybe an hour or two). This happens also for other apps showing the HA frontend in a webview so no blame here - its an old Kindle Fire HDX with a custom Android 5 running on it (also no Google play-services).
So, I though I’d work aroung that issue by killing and restarting Ariela every hour. I use MacroDroid to kill the running app (works fine) and restart it a couple seconds later.
However, when Ariela is started that way, it only shows the blue bar and a loading circle. It never recovers from this. A normal app start works fine, though.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Jochen
What do you mean its disappearing? Its the OS killing it?
Regarding the blue bar loading circle, please share the Ariela logs when this happens so i can investigate.
Yeah, either killing it or the webview crashes with Out of memory or something.
Could it be that something is different when another app is starting Ariela? Or that the screen might be off in that situation?
I’ll try to get logs from Ariela tomorrow.
Thanks!
HI, why there isnt a way to start an addon from ariela?
i dont want to open the browser for that.
is that possible?
What exacly you mean by starting an addon? Can you share web ui screenshot of that function?
They are referring to hassio add-ons.
