Hi, just trying this now and it crashed when searching for WiFi and now crashes every time I open it?

I’m in the latest release of Android P on a Google Pixel if that helps.

Thank you for reporting this. I will investigate the issue.

Is it possible to connect using HTTPS and how are invalid certificates handled?

It will be available on next release.
Coedy: the issue you reported should be now fixed. Please update the app from the play store and let me know how it goes.

I can now discover my instance but failed at the login, think it’s because I did a fresh install and the new auth system has left the normal http field commented out. I’ll add it back in tonight.
But the crash is fixed! Thanks!

is there anyway to give several home networks instead of 1?
and is there a way to change those settings after you did install?

Coedy: i am glad to hear the crash dissapear
ReneTodo: Can you explain the use case you are thinking about?

I use Home Assistant locally (no https no duckdns Nada of that) and with it Ariela, once configured works great.
when I go out of my WiFi (simply out of the house) Ariela (including widget) of course stop working as expected.
Problem is when I go back home /WiFi all widget still do not work back, and I need to reconfigure Ariela…

i got 7 different SSIDs in my home.
right now i can only be connected to home in a small part of my house.
so my problem is that in the other parts of my house i cant connect locally.

and i dont have an outside url because i use a VPN to reach HA from the outside.

Hello,

Klagio: i will investigate the issue
ReneTode: i will investigate for a solution for the issue you mention

Hello,

ReneTode: I was thinking: use configure external function. Enter the IP address of the server. Using this, whenever you are on other wifi network it should connect properly.
Klagio: can you tell me exact steps to reproduce the issue? Also, if i will send a debug version of the app will you want to test it?
Thank you,
Ionut

Please let us know when the next release is out for https

it should be a workable solution, so ill try it.
a few things i noticed.

  1. i get all groups as tab, except the ones i did set as tab in HA. I think there is a mixup there.
  2. the widgets loose connection quite fast.
  3. the characters for the widgets are so bghi can only use 1x1 when i have less then 4 characters

Hello,

bachoo786: in about 1 week the https support should be available
ReneTode: thanks for reporting the issues i will investigate

OT, why don’t you use same SSID for all different router/extenders?

What is the talk about https, I’m using it with https.

But it ask for home wifi on startup, for location services ? But it doesn’t seem like I’m getting a device_tracker, is it not implemented yet ?

to be able to grant access to network based on location.
guests can get network access on certain places but not on other places.

Hello,

yrune: the location is only used to retrieve wifi networks for now, but i like your idea of adding a device tracker in the future.

device tracker and notifications would be my primary reason to get app. Those features can be a hassle to setup with other solutions. So imo it would make the app more valuable. And of course widgets, but that’s already there.

IMO you should not put a lot of work and effort into UI, with lovelace there is already a brilliant UI.
