I have an Arlo camera system, and recently renamed some of my cameras (in the Arlo app) as I moved them around (so the camera that used to be called “Back” is now actually “Garage” etc).
The sensors in Home Assistant still use the old names, e.g. “Battery level Back” rather than “Battery level Garage”. I can’t figure out how to update them.
I’ve tried rebooting HA and the Arlo hub, removing the config and re-creating it. What can I do to change it?
@optilude I am having the same issue and found it seems to be a bug with how Arlo grants access to friends. It’s easy to fix in the Arlo app or web site.
Arlo’s service does not allow simultaneous logins to the same user account. Since I want to see my cameras on my Apple TV and HA I created additional accounts for each, added them as Friends, and granted full access. When adding new cameras or renaming them, they show up as accessible devices for each of these users in the Arlo app. However, you’ll find when logging in as these users the old names are still shown, and in some cases, new devices do not show up.
To fix this, edit the list of devices in the Arlo app for each Friend and uncheck each, then save. Then edit the list again and check all the devices and save. When the Friend account logs in next time the devices should be updated properly.
Hope this solve your issue. It did mine (just now).
