I replaced my Insteon switches with Belkin Wemo ~4 years ago. The wemo’s were a pain to setup but worked ok once integrated with HA. And they had a nasty habit of phoning-home who-knows-what-info so I had to create a firewall rule to block their coms back to the mother server. Unfortunately, I have had to replace almost all of them (thankfully most were still covered by a 2 year warranty).
I am now replacing the wemos with tp-link kasa (hs200 & hs210) based on a recommendation here. Setup has been frustrating at times due to hardware version inconsistencies (I have ordered multiple HS200’s and received HS200’s with different hardware versions, V5.26 or V5.6, that don’t adopt the same with the kasa app).
In general, I think “consumer” grade IoT devices like switches, smart plugs, etc. have not proven to be anywhere near as reliable for me as standard analog (non-smart) devices. The best warranty I have found for “smart” devices is 5 years.
I have over 20 formerly-Tuya WiFi wall switches (mix of 2-way, 3-way, dimmers, motion, and multi-button), mostly Treatlife, but also Cloudfree/Milfra, and Sana, now all running Tasmota. Of the few that have died in 5 years, one was a bad relay latch; the others succumbed to power surges during storms/brown-outs. So about a year ago I installed a whole-home type-2 surge suppressor in my electrical panel, and so far no more failures. I also have a number of Zooz switches which have good build quality, but my oldest is 3 years and again no failures so far.
