I have an Reolink Argus 3E battery camera that I would like to trigger and automation with.
I know I can’t use the Reolink integration due to the fact that the cam doesn’t stream.
All I want to do is trigger an automation when our dog comes up to the back door which is out of our sight. I don’t need to use the camera for anything else. Just trying to repurpose it.
My thought is to narrow down the detection area to just the porch area and set it for animal only.
I tested the email notification function on the camera to see how long it took for me to get an email but seemed pretty inconsistent.
It does have an ftp function, and I setup an ftp server on the HA box using a HA Addon.
Using this method since everything is local it works pretty much instantly.
So, my question is, does anyone know how I can setup an automation to look at the directory on the ftp server and trigger an automation when a new file is uploaded?
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
