Best approach to add energy monitoring in a 42u server rack

Hello,

I want to monitor the energy consumption for all or most of my devices in my server rack :

  • Proliant dl360p gen8 (dual 450 watts PSU)
  • UDM PRO
  • Unifi aggregation switch
  • unifi switch 16 port poe 150w
  • lenovo m900 tiny (HA)
  • Lutron hub
  • monitor

All my devices are connected in a Pyle PDU 2U Rack Mount

I have look into many option :
1-Smart plug with energy monitoring - to bulky for the PDU outlet
2- SHELLY plus smart relay lineup - expensive and complex installation
3- SHELLY PRO relay lineup - expensive and complex installation

So I’m open to any suggestions from any member of this awesome community
BTW, I’m from Canada

What is the electrical service in the rack? 115/240 Volt? 15, 20, 30 Amp circuit? Multiple circuits? Also confusing the title say 42U, but then you list a PDU of 2 units

If you want just all then use a appropriate size smart plug on the input plug (line plug) of the PDU. If you want each then look at a smart strip the can plug into the PDU. Each outlet can be monitored. Or shop for a PDU that can do V, A, W and be switched on each outlet.

I’d take the lid off and see if you can fit an IoTaWatt inside. It can monitor up to 14 circuits.

It does connect via wifi so you may have to replace the lid with something radio transparent.

EDIT: Having some experience with this device now I strongly advise against it.

My circuit is 115v / 15 amp and my server is a 42 unit in witch I installed a 2u PDU. I want to monitor each devices separately.
