Yes. In privileged mode with host network. And docker runs as root.
It could be a problem with the component in the Docker image. It doesn’t rely on anything attached to the host, it just uses MAC and IP to connect, but I do not have one so I do not know.
I’m running Debian 9 on a Pine64. Works great.

FYI: Reinstalled my Nuc with Debian Stretch as host instead. Added docker and published my images with same config as on Alpine. Everything worked right out of the box.
I really wanted to run Alpine as host, but it seems Debian is a better choice. For now, at least.
