Well good news we just added a calendar alongside the sensor. !!

Updated to 0.114.4 this morning, had this error:-

2024-11-08 07:43:56.592 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.config_entries] Error migrating entry H for uk_bin_collection

File "/config/custom_components/uk_bin_collection/__init__.py", line 41, in async_migrate_entry

homeassistant.config_entries.OperationNotAllowed: The config entry 'H' (uk_bin_collection) with entry_id '01JAT3Z5NE4RDNJXJFQQTSBRBF' cannot be unloaded because it is in the non recoverable state ConfigEntryState.MIGRATION_ERROR

Reconfiguring resulted in error, I’ll try reinstall but thought I’d mention it just incase worthy…

Thanks @johnyb

Sorry for all the releases this is actually quite a hard thing to fix and test

But you should be good with 114.5

If you see any weird behaviour just remove the integration and re add and I’m confident it will work for you

Sorry I’d already removed & reinstalled before 114.5, but the update worked fine. Thanks

Thanks Rob. I know this isn’t strictly the forum for this - I’ve got docker up and running on a separate LX Container on Proxmox.
Selenium is installed and I can access Selenium Grid.

I’m struggling on what to do next - step 4 here (GitHub - robbrad/UKBinCollectionData: UK Council Bin Collection Data Parser Outputting Bin Data as a JSON) says the following, but I’m not entirely sure how to do this (I can’t access: http://localhost:4444/wd/hub)

Any thoughts?

Step 4: Supply the Selenium Server URL to UKBinCollectionData

  1. Find the UKBinCollectionData project:
  1. Supply the Selenium Server URL:
  • Typically, the URL will be http://localhost:4444/wd/hub
  • You might need to update a configuration file or environment variable in the project to use this URL. Check the project’s documentation for specific instructions.

All good. @markgolledge

So you have selenium running on docker and no machine on your network can connect?

Is the container in bridge or host network mode?

You could go to http://(ip address of docker server):4444 ?

If that works then where your home assistant is hosted then that also needs to be able to “see” the url

You only need to enter

http://:4444

Don’t add wd/hub from memory

Hi Rob, and the rest of the team!

I’ve stumbled across this amazing tool, and given you’ve just added calendars it looks like perfect timing!

I’ve set everything up, and it appears working but just to check with Calendars, does it just show the next collection date of each type?

(St Helens council via Selenium)

I’ve just realised there is another way to obtain the schedule for Chelmsford. Rather than searching via myhome - Chelmsford City Council, there is a page (Check your collection day) that shows the collection rounds (eg Tuesday A / Tuesday B). Would this be a simpler implementation (and overcome some of the delays I get because myhome has been so slow for ages) ?
Just a thought.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to make a RGB bulb come on with a set colour the evening before the bin is due to go out?
I’ve managed to do this, nothing fancy but for my inexperienced mind, it was quite an achievement

Where did you get your icons @Avinitlarge?

I found one I liked then changed the colours.

They are here if you need them, I have blue too but I’ve not uploaded it
