Requesting the package git-lfs (https://github.com/git-lfs/git-lfs ) be added to base system to allow db files to by uploaded to git repository. Files > 100Mb in size can’t be uploaded to git.

If you want to do fancy stuff on the OS side, I’d recommend you use the supervised HA install method, where you have full control over the OS.
HassOS is basically built so that it’s off-limit.

git-lfs is an extension to git that allows you to have versioned large binary files.

In fact you can install packages in home assistant OS. The package manager uses the command apk add xxxx
First create bash script and make executable and put it in a shell command
shell_command:
setup: /config/scripts/setup.sh
# setup. sh
#!/bin/sh
apk update
apk add -u busybox
apk add busybox-extras
apk add expect
apk add sshpass
Then create an automation that runs your shell command during startup
