Can Control/View Zigbee Thermostat, But Can't Read Temp or Setpoint Temp for Automations

I have a pair of KONOz/Lux Zigbee thermostats. They work just fine in HA via ZHA and show up as climate entities in HA, which I can view in the dashboard using the default Thermostat card.

In that default Thermostat card on the dashboard, I can view the current temperature, current setpoint, and status (idle vs. heating) and set the new setpoint on the card. I can even view the temperature history of each in the history tab for the entity.

However, it seems that the temperature and setpoint temperature do not get reported as sensors to HA, so I am unable to create an automation to read the setpoint temperature, let alone set a new setpoint temperature. I would like to be able to control the thermostat based off of the temperature of a different temperature sensor in a bedroom vs. the thermostat’s built-in sensor which is in a hallway.

Is this a quirk of these thermostats? Or is it something to do with the climate entity itself? It all seems odd because HA clearly has the data I need, I just can’t seem to be able to interact with it as I expected (as a sensor/entity).

Any help would be appreciated!

Same issue with my Tuya Wall mounted thermostat. I can view the various temperatures. Now I want to use these temperatures as separate entities. Can anyone support me?

I have a similar experience with Honeywell T10. It’s over homekit controller instead of haz, but the result is the same.

This worked for me for setting the temperature at least:
