I am looking for retro lights and want to keep the costs as cheap as possible, although that is not the most important thing
Cheap is not the most important, but the cheaper the better
Quality is more important then the price
There are a lot of retro lights that don’t cost much and those are dimmable (that’s important). I’m now wondering if there are smart switches like sonoff (that doesn’t dim) or shelly (does it?). That would be the cheapest way in my opinion.
Of that’s not possible I’ve seen some Osram and sylvania retro lights, but i don’t know if they can connect to hassio.
Also there’s a Fibaro dimmer (2), but that’s way more expensive than the shelly…
Hope you guys can help me out
I haven’t hooked up my Shelly’s yet but I’m pretty sure it’s only a relay on/off

Shelly 1, 1PM, 2 and 2,5 are all just on/off relays.
For your link shelly2LED it states:
DC Power Output 90V 500mA
So seems to run only some specific led lights? I’m not sure.
Have you checked the ikea trådfi system? It is a bit cheaper that hue for example.
Some links from the forum
No I haven’t seen that video before. Seems interesting but not exactly what I’m looking for.
I don’t really know what wattage it can handle either. I need at least 50W on one channel. The Fibaro Dimmer can handle 250W but at most I have 10x 5W lamps in one configuration so I don’t need that much.
And I’m not sure if that one can handle a momentary switch that dim the light when you keep it pressed.
Yes, my GU10s are dimmable I use them with my Fibaro Dimmer today.
I will keep looking but doe…
I’ve been working slowly on a project over the past few weeks to create a smart dimmer switch that mimics a standard UK style analogue dimmer switch.
I have many analogue dimmers around my house but of course these wont dim a smart bulb such as Hue.
There are loads of advantages of smart bulbs that I want to take advantage of, but also want to keep the same experience as with traditional lighting controls - e.g. for children, guests etc.
I select a Sonoff basic as the basis for the project as…

I think its for 12/24V LEDs not 110-240V mains

Thanks for linking my project
For when a smart bulb will not cut it (e.g. decorative edison bulbs) I am going to try these:
They are supported by hue bridge and zigbee2mqtt.

Only for dimming 12/14v strips though, right?

Or a 12/24V led bulb… Mmmm not ideal
For WiFi based Mains Voltage dimming, the community seems to like this device quite a bit:

I have one, but I’ve not played with it yet.
You’ll need to use tuya-convert on it to free it from the OEM, and then install Tasmota (or, optionally, use ESPHome).
