Cannot connect to home assistant with ip address

Oh My
I thought I was pretty smart if I could ping and telnet LOL

Consider your new wifi6 router as “future” proof, you could disable ipv6, and also don’t expect any AX performance, as non of your other devices “support” this, if you have 1 “dumb” wifi-device on g /or n (which im sure you have"we all still have" , so that’s what you get, lowest factor always “rules” :frowning:

Hello, I have a similar problem to that described by @sep_s.
One more thing: I can’t connect to my router settings via browser (https://192.168.1.1/) as I normally did, because I get an error saying “A user is connected to the device”.
I have HA on my Rpi 4, connected to the router via Ethernet cable. This is what I see from terminal:

I have disabled IPv6 and set the following:

Can you please help me set the network settings correctly?

I think you have exactly the same as we have (including the actual address of 192.168.1.50!) and I think it’s the subnet mask of /32 that is locking us out. Change that to /24 (255.255.255.0) and you should be good to go (I think).

I just need to qualify the exact steps / incantations to fix it from the CLI. ;-(

I have changed the netmask to 255.255.255.0 in the network settings and now it works! I can connect both via browser using the local ip address and via the android app. Thank you very much for your help! I am still not able to access the router settings though!

May I ask how you changed the netmask?

If it was from the host terminal, what commands worked please?

I’ve changed it in the network settings interface (see screenshot above), not from terminal.

Ah, so you can access HA via the GUI so it was just a what to set things to, rather than how to set them?

We don’t have access to the GUI so can’t set them etc.
