Careful updating to OS 4.18

Just so you read this: https://github.com/home-assistant/operating-system/issues/1024
my Pi seems bricked so far…

Mine bricked too - currently restoring from a snapshot :frowning:

same issue here. RPI3B+ and SSD. is there a way to extract backups from the Disk?

update:
if you need to extract your backup from a bricked HASS follow this post: Config file on SD card

Same here on a RPI4 , 4GB model and 64GB OS. My RPI seems to be downloading +10GB of data from WAN but never comes back online.

I also suffered the same … pi 4 4gb sd card 128gb … at restart I don’t start this morning only the red LED lit up after the update at 4.18 … I thought the card had broken

Pi4 128GB also bricked after I ran the update last night :frowning:

My HA is still showing 4.17 OS is the latest. Is 4.17 is safe?

Yeah no… Pi dies again when upgraded…
(edit; I was too fast reporting, at both tries it died :()

seems bit odd this https://github.com/home-assistant/operating-system/releases/tag/4.18 isn’t pulled yet, seeing so many users with bricked Pi’s

forgive the tag but @agners, please advice how to proceed with this?

Same here. Rpi4 4gb 64 OS!

@Mariusthvdb ok pulling the release from beta now: https://github.com/home-assistant/version/pull/72

The only reason the update fails could be due to the new update script logic. Anyone with a USB UART TTL adapter which could help debug that problem? Please hop on #devs_os on Discord.
