Awesome, thanks for testing @Deez! I hope to implement the asynchronous version soon after this PR makes it through. That would make adding additional features a lot easier and have quicker response.
I found other HACS and unofficial integrations that already do it, so it should be a matter of porting it.

Did this ever get implemented? I had been using the custom component and when I upgraded to 2025.01 it stopped working. I tried removing the custom component (deleted the yaml and the onkyo directory from custom_components), restarted, then configured via the UI the normal onkyo integration. Now the Onkyo integration is there, but I can’t change the listening mode as its not supported. I tried going back but HA tells me it moved my YAML to the UI instead…so now I’m stuck! Anyone else having this issue?
Yes, I’m having the same issue. But in the HA Github they wrote, that the listening mode will be implemented in a future PR.
