Change volume when youtube open

Will this be useful

That is the sensor that reads out what state is.
So do you have a “media_player.samsung_q990d”
That’s what you’re looking for. So you can adjust the volume.

Sadly I don’t, I was hoping it was that simple

Ok. It’s getting harder for me too. I’m hobby home assistant user. Maybe some developer can help with your question.

If you go to settings - devices & services
Scroll to your q990 Samsung device. (Your playbar device)
Klik it. What does it show you?

Mmmm yep.
So a on/off switch with a volume sensor.

I can’t help you anymore. I think you can write a script that change the volume state sensor.
And you can than make a automation (like above examples) that call service -(your made script)

But I must be honest, i do not know how or sure if that works. Maybe go into the forums if there is something that can set the state of a sensor.

Does not seem like you can control the volume on that soundbar, at least not with the integration you are currently running. There may or may not be a different integration that provides more controls.

I found a custom addon but it works for about 10-20 seconds then says unavailable

I found this.

I think it will work for your soundbar to.

That’s the integration I installed but it says unavailable when I click any buttons on the media player or even if I don’t after 10-20 seconds

its available for 10 seconds then unavailable for 50 seconds and that repeats

Sounds like a connection problem. It’s connection via api I guess. Maybe you need to enable anything online at smart things. (I don’t know. I do not have Samsung)

Did you restart home assistant?!
If problem still happens contact the developer on GitHub. Maybe he has a fix/solution

sadly I did restart

You have done this?

yes and device id

Ask here if somebody knows what to do

I have and hopefully someone can help

Ok small update, I have it partially working, here are my findings

HDMI > Youtube = yes
Terrestrial TV > Youtube = no
Any other app > Youtube = no

? I’m lost here.

Me too, at least its no biggie doing it my self
