Cheap DIY GPS Device Tracker, no monthly subscription Cost

Sending the ODB2 data via the helium network would be cool. I’ve seen some project that do it via celluar, but lorawan seems like a perfect fit for sending tiny bits of data.

@nyu, I picked up a AB02S and connected it to the helium network. It is successfully connected to the network and sending data. I am getting an integration error when trying to send the data to home assistant via http post. I’m using the GPS Logger integration but not seeing anything passed along to it from the helium console.

Anything I should be looking for here? Additionally I noticed that the accuracy of the device is a little off. Is there a way to calibrate the device?

Appreciate any info you can provide.

Hey, thanks for the writeup. Thinking about starting to play around with this and just wondering:

  1. Who are you for an LNS server provider?
  2. Are these suitable? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005241276202.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000023.1.500aZsZDZsZDel

On some more investigation it looks like those are newer v3 board without the integrated GPS. There doesn’t seem to be any of those around yet with the onboard GPS, just the older CubeCell GPS-6502 boards.
