Cheapest and Most Compatible White Spectrum Bulbs

Hello!
I am looking to setup Home Assistant with adjustable color temperature bulbs. I want to do it as low cost as I can. I’m looking into the following bulbs:

I want to avoid a single-manufacturer or internet-connected hub if I can, but I’m unsure where to start. Which bulb should I get and which USB dongle or hub should I get? I’m going to start out with two bulbs. I will eventually get a smart switch, but I don’t want to be tied to one system/manufacturer.

Thanks!

For a bulb: Hue dims to a much lower level than Tradfri. This is useful for wake up lights and for a nightlight.

USB hub could be Conbee/Raspbee or zigbee2mqtt. There is plenty of info on these. Just search

Thanks for the response!

I’ll definitely go for the Hue bulbs then.

I think I will get the GoControl Z-Wave/Zigbee stick for the most flexibility. It’s a tad expensive, but I think it is worth it.

Thanks!

I personally use milight bulbs

cheaply you can find them on Aliexpress, e.g.

Milight also has LED drivers, remote controls, switches, etc.
For communication with HomeAsistant. I use d.i.y hub:

As @Grzech said, MiLight bulbs are cheap and work well. Especially the newer versions.

Sengled bulbs work great with a HUSBZB-1 and ZHA, or with Zigbee2MQTT and can sometimes be found for $5 each (when bought in 8 packs or so).

I’m thinking about using this lightify switch: https://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-LIGHTIFY-Function-Gateway-Assistant/dp/B01M3OK6J7

The only component I can find is to connect to the Osram hub. Will this switch work over Zigbee?
