ah man, when will this come to HACS?
Never HACS doesn’t ship addons (or apps as they’re now called)
well that is just swell
You don’t need an addon or HACS.
Essentially this project is running a Claude code instance and sharing access to your /config folder.
You can do the same by sharing the folder with SMB and pointing Claude at that. No magic. (I personally do ALL my AI assisted HA dev with a shared config folder and MCP access. That’s all)
Just however you connect an LLM at file level be sure you’re comfortable with something that can delete the whole shebang at once..
My session has expired, and /login isn’t working because:
- Hitting “c” says that it copied the auth URL, but it doesn’t copy anything
- You cannot select and copy the text for some reason.
- Right-clicking to copy the url doesn’t work because it only copies the beginning of the url and skips a good 80% of it
I am on MacOS and have tried both Safari and Firefox.
Same here on Windows and Chrome
Zoom completely out on that screen and click the link…
After that, zoom back in and paste the confirmation code you get from Claude.
Fixed… ![]()
For me the link got so long now that even zooming out fully does not help anymore. Any other tips?
Currently my way of getting the whole link is
- zoom out as far as possible
- copy what is recognized as link
- paste that in a txt file
- take screenshot of the rest
- copy text from the screenshot
- paste that in the text file and check that the text recognition got it all correct
- paste full link into Safari
Similar to @rohanpatil1794 , I found the same “URL auth” issue but did the following:
- Opened the HA browser window on a high resolution (width) desktop
- Hit CTRL+minus a few times to scale down the URL so it was on a single-line
- Clicked, the now, un-mangled URL
- Pressed CTRL+zero to restore the scale to normal.
This is the way…
awesome tool! I’ve been using the MCP version which only works from the Claude desktop app and it is constantly having issues connecting. This is so much better! Thanks
Does this work with just a Pro subscription, or does it require the use of an API key?
If you want to avoid hallucinations you should inform Instructions in Claude Settings
Fo rexample, i’ve solve a lot of “issues” with these instructions:
- Answer only what is asked, without adding any additional suggestions.
- For technical questions about devices, always check the manufacturer’s documentation and relevant technical communities/forums, if available (such as Shelly or Home Assistant, for example), before answering.
It works with a Pro subscription
