Companion app error while trying to pair Thread light switch

I just noticed this in the “helpful hints” post pinned in the Matter/Thread topic:

You NEED an Android Phone with the HA Companion app for commissioning of devices, iOS will NOT work, also Google Home needs to be setup as well as your phone needs a logged in Google account.

The post is from December 2023. This cannot still be true, can it?
