Yup, the ZWaveJS server needs to be updated. Running over MQTT will only offer you a buffer for a little while. While you get an explicit error with the Websocket method, and understand you MUST update the ZWaveJS Server before you can connect, with MQTT there is no error but one day you find things aren’t working quite how you expect them to.
This is all just because ZWaveJS is new, and changing fast. Which is a good thing for us - because it’s pretty feature complete already.
Every time you get someone at your door, political, delivery, religion - all of them… invite them in… then just “accidentally” walk them to your movie theatre. By the time you interrupt them and say “Hey watch this” - it’s too late for them to leave haha.
Oh and EDIT: ( This is why I love the fact that Plex will play trailers for other content I own in my library, it feels very cinema - esque )
I got an update notice and clicked for an update. I got a notice that it was starting to install the update, but that was it. No indication that it finished installing or anything else, so that’s a concern. (And that’s after I downloaded the latest version.)
That’s hilarious!
Won’t work because it’s in the barn, which is several hundred feet farther off the road than the house. We have a 1/2 mile driveway. It’s 1/3 of a mile to the house. There’s a fork near the house and the rest of it goes to the barn. The first 1,100 feet of driveway goes through a field, so the driveway is perpendicular to the road, then, basically, close to straight through a long field, which includes up a rise, then a long downhill that puts you out of sight of the road. At that point, it goes into the woods.
I brought up the details because that actually freaks people out - they’ve come a LONG way through the field, are out of sight of the road, and facing a turn going into the woods. I know that freaks people out because some delivery people have called at that point, wondering where they are and if they really are hearing Dueling Banjos or if that’s their imagination! (FedEx would not come down the driveway, after the house was built, to deliver. They’d just leave packages beside that 1,100 feet of driveway in the field! UPS was delivering to the build site from the very start, 9 months earlier.)
We have had ONE political pamphlet dropped off since we moved here, otherwise NO door knockers. At my old house, though, I had been able to make sure of having no religious door-knockers. (PM me if you want to know how - don’t want to get into that in public.)
