Apologies is this is a stupid newbie question – it may be because I am a newbie, started using Home Assistant only yesterday…
I’m using an SLZB-06M, and Zigbee-wise it seems to work well. However, the Home Assistant UI somehow behaves “strangely.” I have a house with 4 floors, and I want to have these floors (cellar, ground floor, 1st floor, studio) show up in HA. I took me a couple of tries to create these floors, on the “Add a device” screen or when directly invoked from “Settings” > “Areas, labels & zones.” The same goes for “zones”, which I want to use for the different rooms I have on each floor.
Eventually, the floor or zone “was just there”, but it feels weird that such a simple operation doesn’t work “instantaneously”…
Is this “normal?” Can I somehow investigate what’s up with my install?
Normally adding areas or floors should be instantaneous. If you are seeing a noticeable lag, it could be coming from a bunch of sources. It might help with a diagnosis if you provide more details about the hardware you are using for your server, the type of install, and any logs that might be relevant.
Ok, I’m using HA Core 2024.12.4, Supervisor 2024.12.0, Frontend 20241127.8, running under Ubuntu Server 24.04.1 LTS in a “Home Assistant Supervised” setup on an old Dell Latitude D630 laptop with a Intel Core2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz and 3 GB of RAM.
I realize this Ubuntu install is not officially supported, but it’s hard to imagine that the problem would be the result of this.
I tried to look at the logs using docker logs --since 1h homeassistant, but there don’t seem to be any meaningful messages.
