Just define the configuration under the hpprinter in configuration.yaml, all the sensors will be created automatically.
It’s just documentation of what will be the values in the sensor that was created, if you have better way to document it, feel free to share or even edit the readme file

Error message changed to info message, data becone None and it updates the status binary sensor to off

Also, is there any chance we could get you to add the pages printed and pages remaining for each color? I am able to pull it with my SNMP sensors, but I would love to just use your component only and I feel like the number of pages remaining is a little easier to get an idea of how much toner you really have left. I don’t know if the OID would be of any benefit to helping you find out what fields they are… if they are let me know… and if you don’t feel like added it obviously that’s fine too

This is great. I’ve been using a script that I have set up with a cron job to run every so often and it grabs the ink levels, but not much more. I love the details for pages printed, cancelled, and scans.
The annoying thing with my Officejet Pro 8600 Plus is that it only reports the ink levels in increments of 10%, not a big problem, and it doesn’t seem to report under 20%.
Anyway, moving on, this is where I’m at so far.
I need to rework my automations for alerting me when the ink levels drop below the alert value a lot has changed from what I had, and I want to do it differently. Just need to think it out first.
The bar charts are coloured to match the ink, but not in the proper colours as to not be so bright and easier to read. It would be good if it could change to red once the value drops below a certain level, but I don’t think that the bar-card can do that (well, not that I’ve found)
Thanks to @Johann_Edelmuller for his code for the pages printer/cancelled/scanned section. Also saw you extra bit with installed dates for each cartridge. I might look at that too.
Is there any way to cache the values?
Here’s my situation… I typically have my printer off. It’s configured to power off daily at 11pm and it’s only on if I manually turn it on. There are periods where it’ll be 1-2 weeks between turning it on. If HA restarts during that time, I get:
It would be great to be able to restart HA and still have the data for my printer.
I have HP Deskjet 5275 and from first quick check, it is working as expected.
Can you extract from the API the cartridge type?
I also suggest that you will add in the README all known printers that works (or have issues) with this integration.

Has anyone tried the HP D7400 Series? It has a server showing all of the things I want in HA, but besides status (which only shows “Disconnected” in HA, which is untrue) I can’t get any of the entities brought in.
