[Custom Component] Tapo: Cameras Control

Finally the integration is working, been waiting fot that to control my Tapo cameras.
But same as the Onvif integration, the person detection does not give an alert on it own.

Only when motion detection is enabled for the camera the binary sensor motion detection will respond, and when motion detection is disabled and person detection enabled there will be no detection.
the camera gives an alarm when a person is detected, but no motion alarm in home assistant.

Is there something in the settings where this can be achieved or a work around ?
Or does the camera just ot send a signal out when only person detection is enabled (and motion detection disabled)

The official version, 3.8.113, through Google Play Store has landed as well, no need to download from anywhere else.

Not in Canada. I keep checking.

Got it, yeah. Is there a process for removing ONVIF and re-installing the HASCs integration? Do you remove the camera devices?

Can confirm. Everything is working great again.
Thanks for all your work, @JurajNyiri !!!

It would be fantastic if we could have individual sensors for person, vehicle, pets.

Soon.

Today I installed the tapo application update on my phone and activated the option… now my question is, can I install the latest camera firmware without the risk of it stopping?

I have the newest firmware and it’s fine.

Did you get the latest app update yet?

It’s not working for me.

Updated app via aptoide
Deactivated 2 factor authentication
Restarted phone, home assistant and all cameras

And I always get the same error

It’s now working…I guess it just needed time to adapt, at his own pace :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I have 2 D225 Video Doorbells that I am not able to configure correctly to see the feed or any still images the image comes up as a big box with blue question mark in the center

I’ve been trying to add my Tapo C100s for the last 4 hours and I’ve been wildly unsuccessful. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, but every time I try to add a camera using 554 control port I get the error ā€œIP Address is not a supported Tapo deviceā€. I want to have my camera as an RTSP stream in HA. I also tried port 443, and it goes through and asks for my username and password for my camera account. Upon entering my credentials to my camera account it says

Invalid authentication data. Make sure you have created your 3rd party account via Tapo app. You can also test if these credentials work via rtsp stream, for example VLC using link rtsp://username:password@IP Address:554/stream1

I know 100% for a fact that my account is correct, I’ve changed passwords 5 times and reset my cameras, reinstalled the Tapo app, Third Party Compatibility is ON, I have the most recent Android version and Home Assistant version. I’m really lost as to what to do at this point.

My C100 has control port set to 443 not 554 and works a charm, give that a try.

I tried that but it says my credentials are wrong every time. I’ve changed my user and password multiple times and it always says it’s wrong, even though the RTSP stream with the same credentials works fine.

Sorry I managed to miss that part of your post. The only other thing I can think of from my personal camera adds is that I had to reboot HA after rebooting the cameras to get past that.

Sadly I’ve restarted my cameras, HA, and the Tapo app over 10 times each. No difference
