Daikin device not found when IP address changes

Hi,

I have a few Daikins with wifi controller. I had to add them manually with their IP address.
I can’t assign them a static IP address, so every time there is a power outage or modem reset, they get a new IP address, meaning that I have to remove them in HA and add them again.

Is there a solution for this?
If not, could the configuration logic be modified to also accept a mac address?

Reserve the devices an address in your DHCP server.

I have the same issue. Even when reserved due some malfunction the device sometimes gets new IP resulting in the same problem (remove & add in HA). May be some issues in daikin or my zyxel multy but this connection can be problematic sometimes.

I would also appreciate solution that is not based on static IP.

That sounds like a problem with the device not reporting the correct mac address to your router/DHCP server.

Nothing HA could do about that. Contact the manufacturer.
