DAIKIN FDYUA160AV19 / RZAS160C2V1 16kW Premium Inverter Ducted System 4 Zones | 1 Phase

Hi everyone,

I am new to Home Assistant and I’m hoping to get some guidance. I a about to have a Daikin FDYUA160AV19 / RZAS160C2V1 16kW Premium Inverter Ducted System with 4 Zones installed.

I am unsure about the best way to connect this system to my home network and control it via Home Assistant. Daikin offers a few options:

DAIKIN AIRBASE BRP15B61 WiFi Wireless Lan Adaptor:
Daikin 50-71WLAN Wi-Fi interface:
Daikin AirHub Touch Zone Controller: (Comes in two versions: On/Off Zone Control and Linear Zone Control)

My goal is to control the four zones using Home Assistant on a tablet and my phone. I don’t want to purchase an AirTouch 5 system. I’d like to be able to turn zones on/off, set timers, and potentially integrate other smart home devices like:

Smart roller blinds
Garage door opener
Security cameras
Humidity and water spill sensors
Ceiling fans
I’m planning to use an Intel NUC to run Home Assistant.

Can anyone provide advice on:

The best Daikin accessory to purchase for Home Assistant integration.
The specific Home Assistant integrations or configurations required.
Any potential challenges or limitations I might encounter.

Tom_Hi, Thanks for your quick response.

So, if I understand correctly, the DAIKIN AIRBASE BRP15B61 Wi-Fi Wireless Lan Adaptor is the only additional hardware I need to install on my Daikin unit to enable Wi-Fi connectivity. This means I won’t require any other Daikin hardware or controllers.

Once the Airbase is installed and integrated with Home Assistant, I should be able to control all aspects of my air conditioning system, including:

Zone control
Temperature settings
Fan speed
And other features

Is this accurate?

Searching the forum to see what others are saying about the BRP15B61 I found this which seems to indicate zone control: Daikin airbase - testing new version of pydaikin - #18 by mover85

The rest of the features are supported as standard thermostat controls.
