Device loss and reconnection

I have the same issue with the same plug. They go unavailable, they come back, then go unavailable again. Only Tapo products are concerned.
I have no idea what’s going on.

Please refer to this thread: GitHub Issue #620.

It seems the issue discussed in that GitHub thread exhibits the same behavior as the problems you’re encountering.

The fix in the GitHub thread is updating the integration to support the new protocol.

Please let me know if this is a solution to your probleem!

Absolutely everything in my HACS installation is up to date. All integrations (both official and from HACS) are set to auto-update and I checked I have the latest TPLink integration version.

I can confirm that going to the TP-Link integration in HA and reloading the devices with errors fixed all but one of them.

Thanks a lot for your advice.

I never fixed the issue for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, and a device that was fixed a few hours ago went unavailable as we speak.
I think this Github issue gives some info: TPLink Tapo integration not working anymore · Issue #122083 · home-assistant/core · GitHub apparently blocking internet access to the plug fixes the issue…

Same issue here TP-Link HS220. Started a day ago. Some are showing unavailable. Some are not

As by me! It seems to me that it is now a certainty that there is a problem.

Since today I’ve got the same problem with my two Tapo p115 plugs. Been using HA for a week now. Installed HACS a few days ago. So everything is quite fresh, so to speak.

Edit
After reading the Github issue mentioned by simongrn
I removed Hacs for now and blocked internet acces for the two plugs. It seems to work.

Yes, unfortunately none of them works anymore. My router doesn’t allow me to cut a device off the Internet, so I’m stuck.

Given that multiple people are reporting the same issue, it’s likely a core problem. If there’s no known issue already, I recommend starting a new one and referencing this discussion.

Reporting issues - Home Assistant

According to this, it will be fixed on Friday

Hello guys I saw and installed the new version of home assistant, but looking at the change logs I do not think it was released the patch for tp-link.

Issue is resolved for me. Power cycle your devices (unplug and replug them), it worked perfectly for me. No more disconnection.

Tomorrow I’ll try to unplug them from the sockets and reinsert them as you say. Let’s hope well .

TP-link integration does not work well with the Tapo P115 smart plugs. I installed the “Tapo P100” add-on and this one works GREAT!

working for me with x4, P110 devices and after a power cycle of each.

Hello I have always used p115 and funzinonano very well. At the moment it is only a linger a p115 but I have to go to detach and glue everything as I was advised to do.

Okay, I did how you wrote and it worked as it was before. I want to say it in a low voice because the bad luck sees us well … :grinning:

Hi there. Since I recently did a complete restart with my home assistant (it was losing devices all over the place), I can contribute a few pointers to this topic. I’m operating more than 10 Tapo P110 plugs for switching devices and monitoring the power consumption. I also have a few HS110 and P100/HS100 sockets, but mostly as “yet-to-be deployed” spares.

I’ve experienced very similar issues as mentioned in this thread over the past weeks. Disconnections of P110 plugs, failing entities, etc. pp., however, I never had any of the devices directly connect to the internet. I use the Tapo App to initialize the plugs, then I set their IP address using my DHCP server, then I add the device to the integration in hoas. I never updated their firmware, they are all on either 1.1.6 or on 1.2.3.

Some of the plugs get auto-detected, some I have to add manually. Some plugs show 9 entities, some 14, some 17. For some plugs, I’m missing the “current power consumption” entity, which has been working on my old hoas installation (where I even had automations based on the power consumption). The existence of the current_power entity in hoas doe NOT depend on the firmware version, I have all 4 cases (1.1.6 with and without, 1.2.3 with and without entity).

I also use the tapo-py python code to talk to my plugs. This python code is ABLE to get proper “current_power” readings from a plug which FAILS to report even the corresponding entity in hoas.

I’m out of ideas except rewriting the hoas code of the integration or writing my own, which I’d rather avoid.

Any help appreciated.

Ciao a tutti , volevo confermare che dopo il rilascio funziona come prima . Volevo chiedere a chi l’ha fatto come fare al fine di utilizzare senza internet i dispositivi tapo Hello everyone , I wanted to confirm that after the release it works as before . I wanted to ask those who did it as if to use tapo devices without the internet . thank you . grazie .
