Ok, thanks. FYI, I’m also using HACS 1.34.0, and the Life360 integration installs ok as a custom repository.
Did you ever have the life360 pypi.org package installed as a workaround? If so, it would have been in /config/life360. If that folder is present on your system, remove it and everything in it and restart HA.
After installing the custom Life360 integration, did you restart HA?
Are the only errors you’re getting from when you try to install via HACS? Or are there any other Life360 related errors or warnings?
I meant from when Life360 was a built-in integration. There was a while at the end of last year / beginning of this year when the package was being updated in an attempt to get things working again and some people had installed it directly as a workaround. If you don’t have that folder, then that isn’t your problem.
If it never installed, then you can’t add the integration entry via that “My” button. You have to install the integration first, then restart HA, then you can add the integration entry, either manually, or via that “My” button.
FWIW, that’s not an error, that’s part of the README.md doc page. It’s very strange you’d see that as an “error”.
You need to resolve whatever problem you’re having installing the integration first. Exactly how are you trying to install it, and exactly what errors are you getting?
Yep, I see that now. I got confused the way it was formatted.
AFAIK, any HACS user can choose whether or not to have HACS list beta versions. If you did not enable that, the “latest” version available would have been 0.3.10, which doesn’t work anymore due to Life360 API changes.
Since then, I’ve “fully” released the new changes as 0.5.0 and deleted all the 0.5.0bN beta versions. If you try again, you should be able to install 0.5.0.
Again, that is because you haven’t installed the custom integration yet. You can’t configure an integration that isn’t installed.
Now that 0.5.0 is available, please try installing again via HACS. Assuming you can get it installed, restart HA, then try that My button again to “add” the integration entry.
Did you add the Life360 repository? If not, then yes.
Please follow the “With HACS” instructions under Installation. I.e., expand the “With HACS” section, then click on the “OPEN HACS REPOSITORY ON MY” button. That will add the custom repository for you. Then I believe all you should have to do is click the DOWNLOAD button, then restart HA, then “add” the Life360 integration entry (which can be done via the “ADD INTEGRATION TO MY” button under the Add Integration Entry instructions.
BTW, where is that screen shot from? The Life360 integration isn’t an “add-on”. It’s a custom integration, which can be installed via HACS.
It says “Select brand”, not “Add-on Store”. Are you sure you weren’t looking in the wrong place?
Or maybe that doesn’t matter anymore. Are you saying that you successfully installed the integration, restarted, and added the integration entry?
I’m not entirely sure. I have only provided kind of a high level description of how to find the token. I have not tried this on all kinds of browsers. What you’re showing looks nothing like I’ve seen. What browser are you using?
Thank you @pnbruckner, this took less than 10 minutes to get installed and looks to be working great so far. Hopefully it will continue to function as we all expect it to!
Hello, I was able to log in successfully following the instructions. But I always get the error message after a certain time. Did I do something wrong?
Hello, what are you finally using to track smartphones ?
My childs with Android are using the HA companion app, it shows very regular updates on the map …
By by other child with Iphone, the updates are very rare ;-( … so I tried Owntracks integration but can’t have it working (no entities are created).
Also tried icloud v3 but currently down.
As I already suggested you in another thread - Traccar.
iOS companion app in my setup sometimes does not update even at home via wifi - need to start companion app to get sensors updated)))
Happens with THREE devices - iOS 12.5.x, 15.x, 16.x.
