Direct association

I have a Fibaro ZWave Double Switch in one part of the house, with nothing connected on its output. I use HA at the moment through an automation to control a separate Fibaro ZWave device when the first one is activated.

I feel like this should be able to work with setting up a direct association between the devices, but does anyone have any guide on how to do this - what groups, etc.? I’ve not had any success.

Although it is not directly an HA issue, I am interested in this as well. My ground rule for home automation would be that (manual) operation should be possible even if HA is offline for some reason…

The devices are both Fibaro FGS223, neither is setup with security.

They support associations:

The source is Switch 2 on the double switch, the recipient is switch 1 on a double switch.

I set up this:

…where Endpoint 2’s On/Off is sent to Laundry light fan’s Endpoint 1.

From what I can see the default parameters should result in the target device (i.e. Laundry light fan Endpoint 1) activating.

Nothing happens.
