I sent an email to Dome support asking what 254 meant and they said to ask HA.

When my Dome leak sensor detects water the flood sensor shows 2. So this jives with the page that says “2: Water leak detected (unknown location)”.
What does 254 mean? My sensor is not near any water and has reported 254 for over a day.
Does 254 mean “no leak detected”?
that’s device dependant. I know they pushed you off, but I feel like they were doing that to get you off their plate. This is a question for the manufacturer. The device is reporting a number, home assistant is just displaying it.
You could open up openzwave and see what it reports but I doubt it’s manipulating the data at all.
EDIT: You could even check the openzwave logs and find the communcation. It will be in hex. Then convert the communication and see what the numbers are. If they are 254, it’s the device.
For most devices I have running, 254 means that it is in sleep mode

It looks like 254 is sent when the sensor is in a binary report mode.
