DTE (Powerley) Energy Bridge Endpoint error

That worked like a charm, thank you so much!!!

Has anyone had a problem with their DTE energy bridge not listening on port 2883 anymore and the DTE insight app not reporting live data? Mine stopped working in mid-March 2023, around the time they introduced tiered billing, I requested a replacement and have the same issue with the new bridge. Prior to that it worked fine for 3+ years, including from HA. DTE insight support has been completely useless so far and my attempts to get through to someone that knows what they are talking about haven’t got anywhere. In the meantime, I’ve found a workaround. I was able to determine that my bridge is successfully talking with the meter as I can see the live reading going to http://{IP_of_bridge}:8888/zigbee/se/instantaneousdemand. Also, I port scanned the bridge and found out it was listening on the standard MQTT port 1883 instead of the MQTT port 2883 that DTE uses for some reason. Unlike port 2883 on port 1883 MQTT is requiring authentication. I was able to find the default username/password for these devices on this discussion and reconfigured HA to use port 1883 /w that username/password and get it work there again. The DTE insight app does not work still, however. I don’t care too much about that at this point but I’d like to get this fixed so that they don’t push some sort of update to my device and break it again. Any ideas what might be the issue?

Same issue here. Can you post your changes to make it work again? Where do I find the default credentials? Thanks!

Have to use MQTT now to get the same data. Doing a search for “MQTT and DTE Energy bridge” should guide you in the right direction. Unfortunately, I am not aware of integration that would automatically setup the device (yet).

I’m a bit confused by this configuration. The energy bridge is sending out the current wattage used in a single minute. That value is not additive - why are you using state_class: total instead of measurement? Is there something I’m not understanding with how this works?

Hi Folks,

I have a powerley energy bridge with the zigbee / z-wave functionality. Does anyone know if there is any way to expose zigbee or z-wave devices over the same MQTT bridge that is used for the Instantaneous Energy and Summation from the meter?

That would make this device actually pretty great if so!

I am also very interested if connected zigbee devices could be exposed.

can you post how you got this to work
