Dusun "open-source" multi-protocol IoT gateways by Hangzhou Roombanker hacked into Zigbee, Thread, Z-Wave, and BLE serial-to-IP bridges?

Anyone looked at hacking Dusun Mini IoT Gateway (SKU: DSI-0177) or Dusun IoT Gateway (SKU: DSI-0134) by Hangzhou Roombanker to make into Zigbee, Thread, Z-Wave, and BLE serial-to-IP bridges?

Dusun website says DSI-0177 and DSI-0134 runs open source OpenWrt Linux and claim that they are programmable at the application level, but perhaps they can be hacked to run a Serial-to-IP server?

Thought these might be interesting as a Serial-to-IP bridge (RF-to-Ethernet bridges for Z-Wave JS and ZHA integrations, etc.) as these feature Zigbee, Thread, Z-Wave, and BLE (and USB) MCU chips from Silabs.

Specification of the DSI-0177 and DSI-0134 both list Zigbee 3.0, Z-Wave, BLE(4.0/5.0/Mesh), Wi-Fi, and Ethernet, plus even Thread (RT-Thread) is listed as an alternative protocol to Zigbee on these.

They also have DSGW-030, DSGW-031, and DSGW-040 series looking to be dedicated WiFi or 4G/LTE to serial bridges for Zigbee, Z-Wave, BLE, and USB, (as WiFi only and no wired Ethernet those models are likley of less interest as stable serial bridges for production Zigbee coordinator and ZWave controller).

Looking at their website these products are based on MediaTek MTK7620A or MTK7688 SoC CPU running Linux and Zigbee. Thread, Z-Wave, and Bluetooth Low Energy radio chips from Silicon Labs.

I have not found them on other sites than Alibaba as of yet, at least not under the “Dusun” brand.

Hey there, I’ve been given a model to play with and review. I received it yesterday. It came with HA supervised installed, with z-wave ready to rock, but am having issues setting up the zigbee side of things. I need to talk to their dev/software guys to understand how the installation has been done as there is preceisely 0 documentation with the machine. I only found the user/pass out with trial and error

I’ll be doing a review on thesmarthomebook.com/blog once ready. The hardware looks ok, and the specs are solid, but i fear the actual HA implementation will definitely need some polishing.

Maybe also post in zigpy discussions as HA’s ZHA ingeration is dependent on their bellows and zigpy:

If Silabs Zigbee MCU in it uses standard EmberZNet firmware then should work with EZSP = bellows.

Might also be interested in reading about these somewhat similar OpenWrt + Zigbee hacking projects:

PS: Please suggest Dusun also add a Serial-to-IP server with mDNS Zeroconf for Zigbee to HA’s ZHA:

That is, not everyone want to run Home Assiatant directly on it as many might be happy to use it as a Ethernet-attatched radios for Zigbee, Thread, Z-Wave, and BLE if it just provides a Serial-to-IP server.
