So finally i got it to work. How did you get this dashboards? Do you store the data periodically in a database or something?
Glad to read. But I am not sure if I understand your questionâŠ
Iâm using ESPhome within my HomeAssistant and for sure all the read values are collected within HomeAssistant and by that I created the dashboards in there.
my question was, how do you collect the data exactly? with which adapter/integration? how often? where do you store the data? in a database or something? how do you make the dashboard? sound maybe stupid, but i dont know home assistant.
Hi Julian,
sorry, because we are here in community.home-assistant.io I thought you might know Home Assistant ![]()
I donât know any other integrations for using the data collected by the gateway we speak about here (ESP with ESPhome and the IR reader). I am running ESPhome to transfer the data via MQTT to my Raspberry Pi running HomeAssistant OS. Within HomeAssistant it is quite easy to collect, analyse and/or visualize data (like shown on the screenshots). Maybe you give it a try?
I am very sure you will like it ![]()
hat jemand das mal hiermit getestet:
funktioniert das auch oder ist der esp01 zu langsam?
sorry for writing in german. will thin one work too or is the cpu from the esp01 to slow?
Hallo Matthias,
Hey thanks for your feedback. i decided to stay with the esp32 because i extend the sensors so that the esp32 is a good choise. my questin is how did you fix the reader to the elwa? thanks in advanced
Hi Matze,
I used rings of plastic spacers, glued to the board with the IR diodes, printed a small housing and sticked it with double-sided tape to the Elwa. Honestly, this was meant to be just for tests but this is how it is running since years now, so I got used to it ![]()
Iâm sure there are some more professionals available, e.g. on Thingiverse.
The ESP is in a separate small housing with short wired just on the side of the Elwa, too.
i have it running now for like one week and it worked great. thanks a lot!
