I use a few of these for switching devices and contactors on and off.
They are great, except I want wired ethernet for reliability.
Closest I’ve got so far is an ESP32 eth01
with an i2c expander (these have got very expensive since I bought mine)
and a bog standard relay board like this.
This all works, but there is lots of spaghetti and potential for loose connections.
I’ve seen the dtwonder module but it is expensive and doesn’t appear to be flashable with ESPHome.
This one looks quite compact and is i2c so would pair with the eth01, but also needs a level shifter I think as it is 5v.
Anyone seen any better modules?

There are a number of ethernet devices listed here Ethernet Component — ESPHome

There are, thanks, just had a look. None of them combine the relay board with the ESP device and ethernet though.
Did you have a look at this already?

I hadn’t spotted the Home Hub, so thank you for that link. Looks very interesting, I’d probably go for that if I could buy the boards with the SM devices already soldered. I’ll keep an eye on it.
The KC board also looks good, I’ll take a look in more detail.
Thanks.
I’ve just ordered a couple of these to try which are well priced and will reduce some of the spaghetti.

How did these work out for you? Did you get them going? Are they reliable?
Yes, I have 3 of the relay modules, and 3 of the SSR modules running across 3 wired wt32-eth01 running esphome. They’re rock solid. No issues at all.
