Turned out that the easiest thing was to replace the 30 amp relays, another brand didn’t mess up the ESP like the one I was first using.

do you have some pictures? how thick was that metal?

Sorry about the late answer, I’ve been swamped with work… But no pics, and I have dismantled it now, I had one mishap, so I replaced the relays with another brand, and they have been behaving so far. The metal was about 2 mm thick, though.
