You wire the blue wires on the reader the same way you would a button. Pressing the doorbell icon on the reader just closes the connection. Polarity doesn’t matter.
good afternoon steven
by your instruction manual so your keyboard and mine are the same.
I’m having trouble connecting my code keyboard to the home assistant. I’m also using an esp-wroom-32. I’ve already followed all the steps on the esphome page and I can’t connect, if you could help by sharing your knowledge I would appreciate it.
Thank you
If you can upload (or pastebin) you esphome logs and a picture of your wiring for the device I’ll have a look.
Make sure the keypad has 12v powersupplyconnect the ground of the 12v power supply (black cable, - ) to a ground connector of your esp.
unfortunately for some reason I can’t upload photos here but I’ll try to explain what I did.
At this moment the esp32 is connected via usb c.
I’m using 1 5v relay to convert these 5v into 12v through an external 12v source to power my keyboard where my electric lock will be connected
and I connected the D0 output of the keyboard and D1 to my esp using the D22 and D23 outputs.
And you see keypresses in the esphome log? I can’t guess what is not working from here.
I will need to see the logs, the wiring and your yaml file or I can’t help.
There is absolutely nothing wiegand related in that small log snippet.
Show your code and wire diagram and the logs when you start your esp and do some keypresses on the keypad.
