It does have Over Charge/Over Discharge/Over Current/Reverse Connection Protections but not extra bells and whistles beyond that.

Yes I manually take control of updates to try to do them efficiently within a minimum wake window then go back to sleep.

Probably if the sensors aren’t all updating in a reasonable time (say 20 sec) then something is wrong (sensor is not working) and you probably want notice of that before going back to sleep so it doesn’t just stay awake and drain battery waiting for offline sensors which aren’t going to update. Can try again on next wake cycle. That was my experience/thinking.

If they all update before that upper reasonable value then go back to sleep asap.
