Hello everyone. Thank you all for your work on home assistant. I have a little issue I’m struggling with and it’s driving me nuts. I’ll explain my setup first so it’s hopefully clear. I am running home assistant, mqtt, esp32 with espresense installed. It works flawlessly to detect which room people are in based on beacon id. However, I started playing a bit with esphome and mmwave sensors. I LOVE it. HOWEVER, there is the issue of needing to run 2 ESP32’s per room. One for presence, and the other for mmwave. So I began attempting to integrate the dfrobot mmwave on one of the ESP32’s already running espresense. It works to detect motion. However there is only one option for config on my home assistant mqtt dashboard. That is for radar timeout. For this project to work I really need to be able to see more configurations for the sensor but can’t for the life of me figure out how. I’m not a programmer or coder so this has been a learn as I go situation. Please be gentle when responding lol. Don’t just blast me please. Can anyone please explain to me how to integrate more configuration options into home assistant for my mmwave sensor? If it’s already covered in a topic and I missed it please just point me to it and I’ll figure it out. Any help is grately appreciated.
To get the best chance of help please share your ESPHome device config correctly formatted for the forum. See https://community.home-assistant.io/t/how-to-help-us-help-you-or-how-to-ask-a-good-question/114371#oneone-format-it-properly-16
I don’t believe @johnnybdemented is running esphome. He said he is running espresence with an added a mmwave sensor, presumably as described here Sensors | ESPresense
That has 2 corrolaries:
- This thread is incorrectly marked epshome. and
- @johnnybdemented should ask the espresence developers, as espresence is a separate project to home assistant and esphome.
Apologies. I completely misread this bit:
