Flash my Zigbee Bridge-P or go for a Zigbee dongle?

Dear all,

I’m just starting in the domotic so here is my first question to the community

I installed HA on a raspberry and I also bought a ZB bridge-p before I discover it cannot work with HA (expect if I flash it).

I’m not really geek so I think I should go for a Zigbee dongle rather than flashing my ZB-p. Although it can be fun to try

Does anyone have arguments to go for one or the other ?

Thank you in advance, I hope one day I will be the one answering questions (I wish xD).

Hi,
There is a lot of information on this forum, so I’d suggest using search first.

The Sonoff ZB Bridge-P has specific warnings:

The previous Sonoff ZBridge was so bad, I used a hammer - not joking! :boom: :hammer::

They can be reflashed to become a reasonable Zigbee repeater.

If this helps, this post!

Hi James,

thank you very much for your answer. I’ll try to make better use of the search engine next time.

I’ve been into your links and I have now no doubt that I should go for a dongle.

I may later try to the reflash my bridge into a repeater. When I will know why I should need it xD ! I’m going step by step.

Thank you again !
