Hi - I’m brand new to this integration but use HA daily. Have a Frigidaire dehumidifer that I’m already controlling using their app. As this is a rather long thread over several years, could someone please point me to a current set of instructions on integrating this into HA? Thanks very much.
HACS Instructions from memory
Go to HACS
Click the ⁝ in upper right corner and select “Custom repositories”
Repository: home-assistant-frigidaire/custom_components/frigidaire at main · bm1549/home-assistant-frigidaire · GitHub
Type: Integration
ADD
Go back to HACS and look up. I sometimes have toe retry a few times before it shows. Then when you see it, click through to the HACS listing and click Download in lower right.
Then you should follow the rest
- Go to Configuration > Integrations and add the Frigidaire integration (should be in the list now)
- It should prompt you for your username (email) and password. Fill those in and hit Submit
- It should say it successfully added N number of climate entities.
YMMV
Powered up my window a/c last night for the first time this year and couldn’t connect. Looked in github, saw that there have been updates so I did the clone git hub thing once I remembered what that is.
While reading, I thought this had been rolled into home assistant at some point but maybe I miss understood. Right now things are working again with bm1549’s offering. Thank you.
Question is what is the best way too keep the frigidaire integration updated?
Thanks
bm1549’s integration is included in HACS as of 2 months ago, so there is no need to add the repository URL manually. If you are on HACS ≥2.0.0 then updates should appear with other Home Assistant update notifications.
