I’m just getting in the Home Assistant game and I’m only experiencing one issue which is with my dimmer. It’s extremely inconsistent when turning off/on through the UI (local or remote). I have nothing in my zwave_device_config.yaml and I’ve seen posts about polling intensity or frequency but I don’t know what values or which sensor to assign it to (dimmer has zwave. and light.). My non-dimmer GE ZW+ switches work perfectly but this dimmer just annoys me. Any help is appreciated.
What version of HA are you on? I ask as with the newer versions you can set what you need mostly via the GUI, where in older versions it was in the zwave config files.
What you’ll want on those dimmer is to not enable polling but to enable the “refresh: true” and set to 3 seconds or so.
This will tell HA to re-query that devices state after a change is reported; after the delay you set. It usually clears up fully the weird GUI behavior.
