I have just loaded the HA Companion App full version 2022.1 onto my new Samsung A8 sm-x200 tablet.
I am setting this up as a central control panel.
I created a separate user for this in HA and it does not have admin rights.
It works pretty well but I cannot get it to report it’s location for some reason
I have been into the app configuration and tried to turn on the slide bar but it just returns back to off.
One thing I did notice was the HA URL was the Nabu-Casa URL but I am assuming that the location data would be from the WiFi.
The GPS works fine in Google Maps??
Anyone have any ideas on how to make this work?
This morning I was scanning some topics in HA forum and came across a few that were addressing this subject.
One of the topics was suggesting that changing Geolocation to “Always On” rather than just when app is running so I did this a rebooted tablet. Nothing changed.
I then went into HA app configuration and tried changing the Geolocation slider to on and now it stayed on and reported to the HA server.
I have blurred out exact location for security reasons
