Same thing here. Followed all the steps. GMG Jim Bowie Prime on same network as HA and nothing showing. Install of the repository was fine and I see it in the HACS integrations, but no record anywhere of it finding my grill.
When going to Settings > Devices and Services > Entities and then searching for āclimateā, you donāt see the 3 entities for GMG?
Nope, no new climate entities, just my existing Nest & Pool ones.
Had the same issue. Then, I noticed above a comment about having the grill set to āWifiā mode. My grill was set to āServerā mode which allows use of the app outside your home. Once I switched it to āWifiā mode it indeed was recognized in HA. However, thatās a deal-breaker for me. Iām not willing to lose the ability to use the app outside my home to get it to show up in HA.
I havenāt yet installed this yet, but I looked around at the code a bit.
Should I anticipate that I will have issues with my GMG Trek, which only has a single food probe? It looks like there are a couple of spots where it is assumed that the grill has two probesā¦
Ugh! Mineās set to wifi mode. For me, Iām completely ok with using HA to access the grill from anywhere (nabu casa)ā¦ the biggest draw for me on this is trending temperatures of the grill and probes so I can learn and anticipate cooks.
Sorry for delay everyone been a bit crazy with weddings, preparing for mine and work.
That is a good point it does assume there is two I will add to the list to see if I can determine the model and decide how many probes from there. I may need some help from you to grab some debug logs for me at some point @systex as I donāt have a Trek
@MTW613 - if you have HA accessible outside by nabu casa as noway55 mentions which is how I do it too or anything you can control the grill remotely in that case.
Iāve started to add some more debugs in and will be working on the setup flow so people can manually enter IP of grill for those with grill on different network but I need to figure all that out but hopefully wonāt take me too long.
It can be controlled that way, but the app has a air amount of functionality in it (e.g. the different cooking profiles) and itās not worth it for me to throw that away. Hopefully there is a way to preserve the app functionality while also adding it into HA (e.g. similar to how security cameras work).
Wondering if anyone know is the ability to switch from C to F has been enabled on climate entities yet, I donāt think so but just want to make sure Iām not missing something
Sorry everyone been MIA Iāve had a lot going on.
I have contacted GMG Support to see if they have an API for when the grill is in server mode. Iāll keep everyone posted on their replyā¦
@jwhitby I contacted them and they said:
"All your friend needs to do is give us a call or email us and weāll get him the answers he needs.
Kind regards,
GMG

Thanks - I have emailed them twice but still havenāt heard back which email did you use? Below is the one I got from their websiteā¦ Iāll follow up again tomorrow on it and may include that other email you have in their response

I have a fork if an original Gmg integration here GitHub - KyleLeMarbe/gmg_home_assistant: Green Mountain Grill home assistant . Seems to work well.
I made improvements to the auto discovery in my fork. I also added the ability to manually configure the integration by specifying an IP address and a grill name.
I want to give a huge shoutout for fixing this issue
Hello! It would appear Iām late to the party. Iām trying to utilize this in my HomeAssistant instance, however, when I check my GMG via NMAP, NetCat and Advanced Port Scanner, all of the show that only ports 80 and 8081 are open.
Iām currently on firmware version āv7.0F DB API v6ā in the GMG app. When I http into the GMG via itās IP, I can see that it shows the local port is 8080, even though thatās not what itās listening on. I tried to put it into server mode, and then leave server mode to see if that would toggle it, which it didnātā¦ Nor did power cycling it.
Has anyone had a similar issue where the grill doesnāt show up in HA, even while on WiFi mode? Iām wondering if they just changed the port as a hard-coding in a firmware updateā¦ Because when I see Port 8080 as the āLocale Portā, thatās on Serial 0, and the āRemote Domainā shows as āserver.gmgserver.netā. When itās on Serial 1, which shows a remote domain on an old subnet that it used to be on years ago, itās showing port 8081.
Serial1
Iām wondering if I need to override the Locale Port and Remote Domain on Serial 1 to make it work or notā¦ Whatās odd though, is the app on my phone works currently, on the existing subnet which is not present in the config.
Hey @MTW613 , I havenāt spent much time on this because I just use a custom dashboard in home assistant. It supports changing temps and graphing probe temps. If your at home, you can still connect to your grill through the standard app.
