… got t working via web browser, had health check ticked on the backend definitions.
looking at the browser cert is def valid.

redid everything. once the above tick box for health check was unticked, it worked on browser again, then went back to phone and noticed the Websocket said connected.

Now that you’ve configured Cloudflare as reverse proxy, better to only allow IPs from Cloudflare to visit your https://HOME_IP:PORT. This could be done in firewall in Pfsense.
