I am using ESPresense, so HA knows which room am I pretty accurately.
Is there a practical way to configure the dashboard I use on the app so that the correct room view comes up by default ? Or would this simply be impractical unusable ?

If you can map areas to Lovelace pages, you can use browser_mod on your phone to control this??? Or is it limited to actual browser rather than mobile app, good question.
