HA Install on Synology via VMM

You should get an ip address at ens3. There is definitely something wrong in the network table.

Have you performed a network reset? by pressing the reset button on the back side for 4 seconds?

Synology firewall is disabled currently as it is not required.

Not performed a network reset as I’ve never needed to do it before but will do so once I am able to and see what happens.

Network reset performed but made no difference unfortunately.

Just to be clear, a Syno VM doesn´t has the same IP as your Syno if the VM network, used by the VM, as ‘bridged’. It wil have a different IP in the same subnet (contrary when using DSM docker which could have the same IP).

Did you try to add and use a new Syno VM network?

Just try these steps:
1 - Add a new Syno VM Network (option ‘external’ and select a free Syno network interface).
2 - Select it for using it for your LinuxMint Syno VM.
3 - Connect the Syno network port to your LAN port of your Draytek router. (Don´t use any other Draytek LAN/WAN ports).
4 - Boot the Syno LinuxMint VM.
5 - Check your LinuxMint Network connection by using command ifconfig -a.

BTW, set the used Syno network interface to use DHCP.

EDIT: Check the IP/Subnet/GW of the used Syno Network interface and the LinuxMint IP/Subnet/GW. If the Subnet and Gateway (GW) is the same and the IP are different then it should be ok. If not try to use another network cable, just to be sure!

Please report what the results are.

FYI, this is how a valid LinuxMint network looks like:

My actual Syno LAN Interface looks like this:

As you can see, the Syno IP differs from the VM LinuxMint IP, which is good.

EDIT: BTW, FYI, you could also check the LinuxMint connection by right-click on the network icon (GUI, bottom right) and select ‘Connection Information’. It will show the used connection information:

I tried this, just to check, on my Syno with a new made Syno VM network as discribed as in the previous post.
