Which additional setup do you have in mind? On hass.agent’s site it says that media player is auto discovered via MQTT… it used to require “hass.agent media player” integration, but not anymore with modern version of hass.agent.
And it’s odd that on two PC’s it IS discovered, on other two it’s not. I compared settings on all my PC’s for hass.agent installation and they are the same (apart name of course).
I just ran MQTT explorer, connected to my mqtt server (it’s on HA as addon), and, interesting, MQTT messager for these two PC’s ARE THERE. Why then are not discovered in HA remains a mistery…
So, anything you can check on your side would be helpful…
The machine I have in mind is not readily available you will be waiting a while. I just remember having to go into the pc side configuration under commands and add commands for all the media controls I wanted. It suggested defaults but I had to enable what I wanted.
I came just a bit further: it seems that hass.agent for these two PC’s is not auto-discovered at all - i manually added them back then when i installed agent on those PC’s, so i think that here lies a reason for media player absence.
Now i deleted agent from these two PC’s and so far, no discovery message appeared in HA, even after numerous HA restarts, hass.agent restarts… i’ll wait a while to see, but i doubt it will appear. I even found advice of SamKr to change serial number in registry, but it doesn’t help.
So, something is definitely “broken”, inside HA i guess.
At the end i think i’ll just have to take a risk with removing everything and re-adding, as i found that worked for some guys in the past. i did a reinstall of hass.agent, but no luck.
Anybody have an example of sending an image notification using the /media directory? Currently I am getting around this by using an image from /media/local for Companion app notifications, and forced to copy the the image to the old www folder to send an alert to HASS.Agent (and FireTv for that matter). I have tried every permutation of /media/local that I can think of for service call for HASS.
why does the info supplied by my HASS Agent so often jsut stop working
as you can see from the screenshot, the top three sensors are now unavailable…as they were at 9am when I booted my machine up…I restarted HASS agent which brought them back but now an hour later they are gone again
It wouldn’t matter as such, but I use those sensors in an automation that turns off a smart plug that turns my screens off…so of course when the sensors disappear, screens go of…even when Im using the machine…
Maybe I’m missing something obvious, but I haven’t been able to figure out how to adjust the brightness of my office light from a quick action. Is such a thing possible?
Right! To my knowledge this isn’t really easily possible. The number of actions are limited to the desired action list. There is no dim option there. You could create some scripts and execute those. I don’t expect you to have all kind of different dim scenario’s, most of the time people only use 1%, 10% and 100%, maybe a few in between, but not all 100% steps.
Is it correct that when I turn off my system, all the sensors go to unavailable? I was expecting it to show the last known value. For example for the last active, or last boot sensor it would be nice to always see the last time and date.
It is… in fact, i think that pretty much all sensors go unavailable if “source” is missing… exception can be mqtt sensor (just assumtpion, though…i don’t use them much), and esphome when it’s confugured to got to sleep, if i remember correctly.
Hey, I’m trying to set up the notifications with the HACS integration and it works fine but for some reason the integration discovers the same device twice but with different names.
Did anyone experience this and knows how to fix it? I could just ignore one but I’d like to have it cleanly discover only one
Hi @SamKr, I downloaded hass agent and it worked for a sec than gave me the error below, I have deleted the app many times and tried to touble shoot but its not working:
So it won’t let me open up to set up sensors and all that other stuff. Any help would be great thanks!
Hass Agent is perfectly putting my asus laptop to sleep but unfortunately does not wake it up. This is probably because of windows not running the app in the background while in sleep mode. My sensors are also becaming unavailable. Does anyone have a solution for this ?
Nothing runs when Windows is sleeping, since computer is practically off, only RAM (and some other minimal stuff) is powered. You can wake it up via network, but it must be configured to be able to do so (in bios, i think).
Does Hass Agent allow data fields to clear notifications on windows? I followed Introduction | Home Assistant Companion Docs and added data tags to the automation, as well as the message: clear_message entry in the data section.
