Hassio crashed - backup needed

I again crashed my hassio instance by pulling the power cord. This happened to me the third time.

It seems to me that hassio (running on a raspberry pi 3b) is incredible sensible against power cuts. Its a high chance to brick the system by pulling the cord.

I used “shutdown” before pulling the plug but this today also ended up in a chrashed system. I now have to back it up.
No ssh and no samba server available.

Is there a save way to shut the system down?

Put the SD card in a PC and copy off your snapshots. It’s a lot easier if you copy off the snapshots regularly - while hassio is running correctly. There are automations and add ons to do this automatically. Search for backup and Dropbox.

I have automatic dayly updates stored to my nas, so everything good on the „backup side“.

Thing is I‘d like to avoid running trough that whole update process.

My question is how to power it off safly. Can’t be normal to have to restore everything every few months

After calling a shutdown wait until the raspi green LED stops blinking before pulling the plug. I’ve done this many times without issue.

I tried this now, looks like I bricked it again. Hass.io does not show up after around 10 minutes.
I have to restore it now again, very annoying. Don’t know what’s wrong here.

Sorry to hear that. There’s something not right. I have no idea what though.

With a clean hass.io install, I was able to shutdown and restart fine. There is something wrong in my system

Something is causing it to hang on shutdown. Maybe plugging a display into the HDMI port would show some relevant info.

The thing is that I have to plug it off to get it to the display, this will most porbably again cause troubles.

I also have this issue:

Maybe the same trouble source?

Looks like the source of my ha problems is indeed the ecovacs component.

Disabling this component fixed the error "day is out of range for month.

Also Shutdown via the console “hassio host shutdown” and pressing the shutdown button in the hassio ui works now.
