Having problems installing Hass.io on Rpi 3+b

Hi All,

i’m trying to install Hass.io on a raspi 3+b from a sd card flashed as instructions on the website.

i plug it into the pi, connect the network cable, hdmi to the monitor and then the power (5v 3a)
everything appears to go well with a string of green [ ok ] appearing down the left side of the screen, then… i get

[ TIME ] Timed out waiting for device /dev/disk/by-label/hassos-overlay.
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for HassOS overlay partition.
[ TIME ] Timed out waiting for device /dev/disk/by-label/hassos-data.
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for HassOS data resizing.
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for HassOS data partition.

and nothing more happens, it’s been left like that for 12 hours now.
Have I done something wrong?
