Help creating a frontend base

I want to create a frontend that looks somewhere like this:

I want it to be like three vertical columns,

Left side:
Always visible on every tab, showing some base information like clock, weather, Home/away status. And the empty space between clock and weather should be showing a media player IF music is playing else just empty.

Middle and right columns would be dynamic and showing information, switches or whatever relative to what tab is active!

Can anybody help me with this or just give me some info how to start doing this?

I know its not an easy task though, and that is the downside with ha. Its really hard to create and share nice ”themes/frontend/dashboard” or whatever you call it.

Anyway, any help you can give me is appreciated!!

There’s some details in the twitter thread: https://twitter.com/teachingbirds/status/1151113630391427072

Thank you for response, althought Isa’s created Nesthub is in fixed proportions and created only for 24" display. I want it to be more dynamic in size to be used mainly for 10inch but also to be useable with phones.

I bet someone already have started to do this as there is many liking this beautiful dashboard that she created!?

May I ask how I add Isa’s nest_dashboard.yaml for testing? I have added all custom cards to HA. But I really dont know where to place the yaml, nor how I add it to be accessible from within HA?

I like this one: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/tileboard-new-dashboard-for-homeassistant
Hope it helps, if you know JS and CSS you can do a lot.

I know that one, dont like it at all…
